Nyack Police Officers, Officer Waverly "Chipper" Brown, Sgt. Edward Grady and Brinks guard Peter Paige will be honored Sunday, October 20, 2019 at 4pm commemorating the 38th anniversary of their murder during an armored car robbery by a gang of self-professed revolutionaries. Mountainview Avenue at the entrance to the New York State Thruway off Route 59 will be lined with law enforcement officers, friends, family and residents during the memorial. The ceremony will feature a police honor guard, a wreath-laying, taps, a rifle salute, pipe and drums, and singing of the national anthem. The entrance and exit heading south will be closed during the memorial service. All are welcome to honor the ultimate sacrifice by Nyack Police Officers, they will never be forgotten.
