Water Advisory Notice

The Nyack Water Department will flush water mains in Nyack and South Nyack beginning on Monday, May 11, 2026 through Friday, May 15, 2026.

Hydrants are flushed to maintain water quality by removing mineral sediment, iron deposits, and biofilms (bacteria) that accumulate in water mains. This process keeps water safe, clears up discoloration, improves taste, and ensures hydrants are functional for emergency firefighting while also testing water pressure

Flushing hours will be between 9PM and 6AM. Homes using a booster pump should turn them off during this period. Crews will be conducting pressure and flow testing which may extend the flushing time schedule. 

Your cooperation is appreciated. As a result of the flushing, water may be temporarily discolored and you may experience a temporary reduction in water pressure.
