Parking Tickets

The Nyack Parking Authority issues parking tickets to promote public safety and enforce parking regulations throughout the Village. Violations may include expired meter violations, expired vehicle inspections, double parking, parking in loading zones, alternate-side parking violations, parking in "No Parking Anytime" zones, and other parking infractions.

Please be aware that temporary parking restrictions may be in effect during street fairs, festivals, parades, construction projects, road work, or emergency road closures. Temporary signs posted in these areas supersede regular parking regulations.

Guilty Pleas

If you wish to plead Guilty and pay your parking ticket, payment may be made online through the "I Want To" section of the Village website or in person at the Village Clerk's Office.

Please note: The Justice Court does not accept payments for parking tickets or parking fines.

Not Guilty Pleas

If you wish to plead Not Guilty, please contact the Justice Court at (845) 358-4464 to obtain the dates and times for upcoming walk-in court sessions.

When you arrive for your court session, you will be asked to print your name legibly and present your parking ticket to a Court Officer. The Judge will then review your disputed parking violation and call your name when your case is ready.

The Justice Court does not accept Not Guilty pleas by mail or email.

The only way to formally dispute a parking ticket is by appearing at a scheduled in-person court session. Virtual appearances are no longer permitted in accordance with Rockland County court regulations.

Payment and Hearing Timing

You do not need to wait until the appearance date listed on your parking ticket to resolve your citation.

  • Parking tickets may be paid beginning 24 hours after they are issued.

  • You may also appear at the next available walk-in court session to dispute your ticket.

Delinquent Tickets

Failure to resolve outstanding parking tickets may result in additional penalties, including:

  • Vehicle booting

  • Towing or impoundment

  • Collection actions

  • Negative impacts to your credit

Please resolve parking tickets promptly. Some fees and penalties associated with delinquent tickets cannot be waived.

Adjournment Requests

Adjournment requests are discouraged and may result in additional late fees or penalties. If you must request an adjournment, please contact the Justice Court at (845) 358-4464 to obtain the next available walk-in court session date.
