Downtown Revitalization Initiative

The Village is in the process of applying, for the fourth time, to the NYS Downtown Revitalization Initiative for support of a range of projects geared toward improving public infrastructure, building affordable housing and improving the overall economic vitality of the downtown area. The application is due on October 19, 2024.The public is encouraged to learn about the DRI (click here Downtown Revitalization Initiative (ny.gov) ), review the Village’s 2023 application ((link above) and submit your ideas or comments about the application or any new projects or ideas you may have, by sending an email to Andy Stewart, Village Administrator, at administrator@nyack-ny.gov, or leaving a voice mail at 845-358-3581. There will be a public information meeting on Thursday, October 10, at 5 PM in Village Hall, and the topic will be on the Village Board agenda in October, and the public is welcome to comment then as well.

The DRI is a cornerstone of the NYS economic development program focused on downtown neighborhoods and job creation, business growth and economic diversity. Successful applications result in NYS funding for both public infrastructure and private construction projects that promote economic and cultural vibrancy in downtown areas.
