It's essential for homeowners to know the location of their water shut-off valve. In case of an emergency, such as a leak, knowing where to quickly turn off your water can prevent significant damage. Typically, the shut-off valve is located where the water line enters your home, just before the water meter.

What to Do in an Emergency

If you cannot locate your shut-off valve, the Water Department is here to help:

During Business Hours (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM):

After Business Hours:
Contact our answering service at 845-358-3734, and a Water Department employee will be dispatched to assist you.

Resuming Water Service

Please note that resumption of water service can only be scheduled between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. To restore service, you must contact the Water Department to schedule an appointment.
